Dumyat

To help with Adams family logistics and getting Neil out climbing, I've been looking for fun rides that I can get to by train and which wont be too boggy. A big ask of the Scottish landscape at the moment.  Yet, following those criteria, I managed to have a fantastic day of biking from Stirling station.  We rode out to Mine Woods and up the hill round the reservoir, where we joined the walkers path to Dumyat. A mixture of gentle climbing, a wee bit of carrying and some in between stuff where you just have to go for it as hard as you can and hope you made it.  Nowhere near as boggy as I expected and the descent went on for ages, putting a huge grin on all our faces.

You can just see the Wallace monument in the background, that probably counts as a great view by recent standards.

We were really lucky to bump into some friendly locals who volunteered themselves as our tour guides for the rest of the day, leading us round some awesome singletrack through the woods down to the uni, then back up to Mine Woods for some more fun descents and skiddy corners, then they helpfully pointed out the cyclist-friendly cafe in the area, just to round off the perfect day.
